- Jesus invites me to become his disciple.
- Becoming his disciple does not mean that I am better than anyone else. Discipleship is not a badge of achievement.
- In fact, I must acknowledge my spiritual poverty in order to live as a disciple of Jesus. I can’t do it (Kingdom living) without help from Jesus, the King.
- To become his disciple I must give up my right to run my own life. I must get rid of anything that prevents me from following Jesus.
- I become a disciple of Jesus by deciding to follow him (walk with Jesus). I commit to follow Jesus as his apprentice in Kingdom living. The moment I do this, I become his disciple.
- I am transformed and become more like Jesus as I follow him.
- My first priority as a disciple is always my relationship with Jesus. My relationship with Jesus also changes the way I relate to others.
- Following Jesus is not a church program but a life-long process of spiritual growth and service.
- As a disciple, I will seek to help others become and grow as his disciples.
- My life as a disciple is about progress, not perfection.
